The Tehidy Creative Residency.
We are delighted to share the news that our director will be undertaking Krowji‘s Tehidy Creative Residency from April 2025.
The project Maskala is about disguise, protest and the seasons.
Ruth will be using natural materials found at Tehidy to construct costumes and masks and use cameras to create portraits. Her project is inspired by a recent youth movement in the USA.
Over the three months of her residency, there will also be three artists running one-off workshops and Ruth will also deliver five community workshops and photography meet-ups.
The events are free, open to the public and cater for all abilities.
An exhibition of community photography, video, costume and ephemera will also take place at Kennels Cottage and a room will be turned into a camera obscura.
Ruth’s residency will culminate in a day-long celebration called ‘A day of radical reimaginings for a better future’ that celebrates the changes in the seasons and our right to create, connect, protest and live well.
We’ll be sharing more news and events related to her residency over the coming weeks, so make sure you’re signed up to our newsletter: https://mitber.com/
This project is made possible due to part funding from the Shared Properity Fund which restored the Kennels Cottage for use to host the Tehidy Creative Residency.
